JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's tennis team was without the services of 
Jonah Wheeland on Saturday, starting in a 2-0 hole against Lake Forest College. The Blueboys were unable to climb back in the match and ended with a 7-2 loss to the Foresters, dropping to 6-8 (3-2 Midwest Conference) with the loss.
With only five players in action, Illinois College automatically defaulted at the No. 3 doubles match. Lake Forest added onto its lead with an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, though the team of 
Miguel Vaca and 
Michael Connolly were able to get one point back with an 8-2 win of their own at No. 1.
Likewise, in singles, the Blueboys defaulted at No. 6, giving Lake Forest a 3-1 lead. The Foresters then wrapped up the win by claiming victories over 
Jacob McQueen at No. 4 and 
Connor McAndrew at No. 5.
Lake Forest added onto its lead with two more victories over 
Michael Connolly at No. 2 and 
Cameron Doerr at No. 3. Vaca edged Matt Kacyn at No. 1 by a score of 6-4, 7-6(3) for IC's second point of the day.
The Blueboys were originally scheduled to compete against Monmouth College on Sunday afternoon, however that match has been pushed back to Wednesday. IC hosts the Fighting Scots on April 10 at the Bellatti Tennis Complex starting at 5 p.m.
