JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – After four seasons in charge of the Illinois College men's soccer program,
Kurt Albrecht has announced his resignation from the position to assume the role of head men's soccer coach at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
"I want to thank Kurt for his impact on the department over the last four years," said Director of Athletics
Mike Snyder. "The growth of the men's soccer program will be felt for years to come. I hate to lose him, but am happy for him as he turns the page and starts a new chapter in his life."
In his four seasons leading the Blueboys, Albrecht compiled a record of 27-38-7 with a pair of nine-win seasons in 2015 and 2017. The 2017 team finished fifth in the Midwest Conference, just missing out on a trip to the MWC Tournament. With only two seniors on this past year's team, the Blueboys struggled for goals and ended 5-12-1, though they did register conference victories over Beloit College and Lawrence University, as well as a Mayor's Cup win over MacMurray College.
Albrecht's final day with the department at Illinois College will be Feb. 11.
Will Lange will move up from his assistant coaching role with both the men's and women's programs to assume the mantle of Interim Head Men's Soccer Coach while a national coaching search is conducted.
