JACKSONVILLE, III. – It took less than two minutes for Knox College to find the back of the net on Saturday against the Illinois College men's soccer team. By the half, IC faced a four-goal deficit and couldn't climb out of the hole, falling to the Prairie Fire by a score of 5-0. The Blueboys now sit at 5-7-2 (1-2-0 Midwest Conference) with this defeat.
Knox utilized a fast-paced offense that included a Adetayo Adefioye goal in the second minute. Adefioye took matters into his own feet, scoring again on a fourth-minute unassisted goal. The Prairie Fire added two more goals before the 20th minute. The goals were scored by Nick Janulis and Raphael Adeyemi. The score remained the same entering halftime.
The second half was similar. Illinois College found its chances to be limited, while Knox continued to produce pressure on the IC defense. The Prairie Fire tallied another goal in the 76th minute, scored by Kgatiso Mangoegape, to wrap up the match.
Raul Rubalcava had a solid game guarding the net. He was able to deny 10 of the Prairie Fire's 15 shots on target. The three Blueboys shots came from

The Blueboys will host Monmouth College on Friday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's match between the two programs.
