ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Illinois College women's golf team was defeated by Grinnell College on Saturday, 3-2, in a match play event, but the Lady Blues will be more focused on their results next weekend. IC is one of a handful of Midwest Conference teams using this weekend to get an advance look at the Aldeen Golf Club before next weekend's MWC Championship.
Grinnell's Sinha twins staked the Pioneers to a quick 2-0 lead on Illinois College. Vidushi Sinha defeated
Jade Coady, 6 & 5. Vrishali Sinha downed
Andi McCombs, 10 & 8. The win was clinched for the Pioneers after Danielle Oberlander locked up a 5 & 3 victory over
Lindsay Alewalt.
The two winners for the Lady Blues were
Brooke Metzger and
Madi Peyton. Metzger was a 4 & 3 winner over Julia Echikson and Peyton downed Sam Hengst, 5 & 4.
