JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's golf team came up two strokes short on Sunday in a 319-317 loss to MacMurray College at The Links of Jacksonville. The Blueboys were led by the individual medalist on the afternoon,
AJ Jeffers, who shot a round of 76.
Behind Jeffers and placing in the fifth, sixth and seventh spots at the meet were
Connor Wallace,
Ryan Kaufmann and
Bryce Oden. Wallace shot an 80 on the day, Kaufmann carded an 81 and Oden recorded an 82.
Other golfers on the course for Illinois College were
Ethan Beck,
Ethan Flinn,
Patrick Shea and
JR Batson. Beck shot an 84 and tied for eighth place. Flinn was 11th with an 87. Shea tied for 12th with a 90 and Batson was 15th with a 98.
Illinois College continues the Fall season on Sept. 29-30 with the Millikin Invitational. The 36-hole tournament will be held at the Country Club of Decatur and the Red Tail Run Golf Club.
