JACKSONVILLE, Ill.Charlotte Crofton posted a career-high 18 saves, but it wasn't enough as Webster University applied steady pressure throughout the night and scored two early goals to down Illinois College, 2-0, on opening night.

The season opener at England Stadium saw an early barrage of shots from the Gorloks. Ashley Sholmire and Alex Wilson each provided a shot, but both missed the frame for the Lady Blues. At the end of the first half, Webster held a 20-2 edge in shots, a mark they would extend to 37-3 by the end of the match.

Crofton was called upon early and often in the second half. The sophomore keeper made another nine saves in the second 45 minutes to go along with her nine in the first half. Parker Corbridge came off the bench for the Lady Blues and provided the lone shot in the half for IC.
