DE PERE, Wis. – The Illinois College women's tennis team wasn't able to hang with the defending Midwest Conference tournament champions on Sunday morning, falling in a road match to St. Norbert College, 9-0. The Lady Blues fall to 3-4 (1-2 MWC) on the season.
St. Norbert established its dominance with three convincing doubles wins, claiming 8-2 victories at Nos. 1 and 3, as well as an 8-0 win at No. 2.
In singles, the Green Knights won the matches at Nos. 2, 3, and 6 at love.
Sally Hixson fell in the No. 1 match to Jordyn Lawatsch, 6-2, 6-1, while
Lena Reed and
Kalisa Goertz lost at Nos. 4 and 5, 6-2, 6-2.
After a weekend in Wisconsin, Illinois College comes home to host Millikin University at the Bellatti Tennis Complex on Sept. 13 beginning at 5 p.m.
