Box Score
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Illinois College women's soccer team found itself minutes away from a season-ending victory, only for Cornell College to equalize with less than four minutes to play in regulation and then tally the winner just before the end of the first overtime for a 2-1 victory. The Rams wrap up their season at 5-14-0 (4-5-0 Midwest Conference). The Lady Blues end at 3-16-0 (1-8-0 MWC).

Ashley Sholmire opened the scoring in the 21st minute with her 11th goal of the season and program-record 36th goal of her career. Sholmire caught Cornell goalkeeper Nell Rosenthal out of position and dribbled around her before tapping it home for the 1-0 lead. The Rams had six shots in the first half, but Charlotte Crofton was only forced to make one save, giving IC the halftime edge.

Cornell piled on the pressure in the second half, attempting a total of 22 shots. Crofton made six saves and very nearly got the Lady Blues to the finish line, however Lindsay Smith tied the match in the 87th minute on an assist from Cali Pfleger to send the match to an extra session.

The first 10-minute overtime session nearly went the distance without a shot attempt from either side until Cornell put one past Crofton with eight ticks left. Ashley Quesada's fifth goal of the season was assisted by Layne Pullen and gave the Rams the golden goal victory on Senior Day.

Sholmire ended with two shots in the match, as did Morgan Lallish. Mackenzie Bedgood attempted one shot, which was saved by Rosenthal early in the second half. Crofton, the MWC leader in saves, ended with seven more in the final match of the campaign.
