JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's soccer team suffered its first dropped points of the Midwest Conference season with a 1-0 loss to St. Norbert College on Sunday afternoon at England Stadium. The Green Knights scored in the ninth minute and shackled the Blueboy offense throughout to get the shutout. IC's winning streak ends at six with the Blueboys dropping to 9-3-0 (3-1-0 MWC).

St. Norbert threatened early on with a shot from Tyler Kassube hitting the woodwork. Less than four minutes later, Kassube netted what would be the game-winner in the ninth minute with an assist from Andy Frank. Ty Clearwater kept Illinois College close with five saves in the first half, but the Blueboys managed only one shot in the first 45 minutes.

Illinois College was on the attack much more often in the second half, but only a shot from Adam Rodriguez in the 78th minute forced St. Norbert's Eddie Sanchez to make a save. Of the six shots the Blueboys had after the intermission, three were blocked before they could reach goal. Despite four more saves from Clearwater, IC couldn't conjure up the tying goal.

Luke Davis and Roger Mies each ended with two shots in the match for the Blueboys. Clearwater made a total of nine saves.

A huge match awaits the Blueboys next weekend as they wrap up a three-match home stand. IC will meet MWC co-leaders Carroll University at England Stadium on Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m.
