By: Cat Solberg’s shutout streak finally came to an end on Saturday, as Grinnell put three goals past the junior goalkeeper in a 3-0 victory for the Pioneers.

Cat Solberg managed to save seven shots, but the Pioneers were able to get three past her, ending the shutout streak that spanned the first four matches she played this season. The Lady Blues fall to 6-3-0 (0-1-0 Midwest Conference) on the season.
Grinnell took the lead right at the 22-minute mark as Carolyn Silverman netted a goal off a pass from Dabney Hofammann. The lead doubled for the Pioneers with five minutes left until the break with an unassisted goal from Annika Helverson. Any hopes of a comeback ended in the 85th minute with a goal from Izzie Pfeiffer.
Bianca Savarese and
Ashley Sholmire had two shots in the match to lead the IC attack. Katy Oldach made four saves to improve to 5-4-0 for the Pioneers.
The Lady Blues are back in action on Oct. 4 as they travel to take on Lawrence. Kick-off will be at 1:30 p.m. in Appleton, Wis. following the conclusion of the men's match preceding it.
