JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's tennis team saw its two-match winning streak ended at home on Wednesday afternoon as the Lady Blues fell to visiting Millikin, 9-0. IC falls to 2-4 with the loss while the Big Blue improve to 4-3.
After falling in all three doubles matches, Illinois College would have needed a massive turnaround in singles but it wasn't in the cards. Millikin recorded 6-0, 6-1 wins at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 to clinch the win.
Tamar Norville put up the best fight on the afternoon for the Lady Blues, but fell in No. 1 singles, 6-4 and 6-2.
Illinois College will look to get back in the win column on Saturday with a road match at Blackburn. IC knocked off the Beavers, 9-0, over this past weekend for its first victory this season. The match will get underway at 10 a.m. in Carlinville.
