Berry, Kohler earn all-conference honors

Brandon Berry and Nathan Kohler have earned all-conference status from the Midwest Conference as the league announced its postseason honors on Wednesday.

Berry, a senior from Olney, was a Second Team selection. Berry led the Blueboys in scoring (19.1 points per game) and rebounding (6.8 rebounds per game), ranking fifth in the league in both statistical categories. He led the league in free throw shooting at 91.9 percent (102-of-111), while shooting 56.6 percent from the field (150-of-265) and 47.4 percent (37-of-78) from 3-point range, both of which ranked as the fourth-best percentages in the conference.

Berry averaged 31.8 minutes per game, ranking sixth among league players. He scored the 1,000th point of his collegiate career on December 7, becoming the 29th player in program history to reach the mark.

Kohler, a senior from Kewanee, was an honorable mention selection. He averaged 13.6 points per game, ranking 20th among league players, and dished out a team-best 4.5 assists per game, the second-best average in the conference. He shot 47 percent (109-of-232) from the field, 37.6 percent (50-of-133) from the 3-point line and 83.3 percent (45-of-54) from the foul line.

Kohler averaged 31.1 minutes per game, ranking eighth among league players. He broke his own record for 3-pointers made in a game when he poured in eight in a win over Monmouth College on February 6. He scored the 1,000th point of his collegiate career in the Blueboys' season opener on November 15, becoming the 28th player in program history to reach the mark.

Illinois College was 13-10 overall, and 9-9 in league play, in 2013-2014.
