The Illinois College men's basketball team trimmed a 21-point deficit to just three poins in the final moments, but the rally came up short as Lawrence University scored an 82-79 win over the Blueboys on Saturday in Jacksonville.
Zeke Light scored a team-high 19 points for Illinois College.
Spencer Campbell added 16 points and
Brandon Berry chipped in 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Justin Smith had five steals for the Blueboys.
Illinois College shot 44.6 percent (29-of-65) from the field, 23.8 percent (5-of-21) from 3-point range and 84.2 percent (16-of-19) from the foul line.
The Blueboys fell to 11-8 overall and 7-7 in Midwest Conference play. They travel to Cornell College on Tuesday night.
