The Illinois College women's basketball team rallied late but came up short in a 63-55 loss to Monmouth College on Thursday night at Monmouth.
The Lady Blues trailed by 14 points with 13:53 remaining, but a
Hannah McGinnis jumper tied the game with 1:41 to play. Monmouth scored the final eight points of the game, however, to earn the win.
McGinnis led the Lady Blues with game highs of 21 points and 17 rebounds.
Brittney Burgess added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while
Holly Wohltman chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Lady Blues fell to 10-8 overall and 8-5 in Midwest Conference play. They host Lawrence University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
