BELOIT, Wis. – Wrapping up its road weekend in Wisconsin, the Illinois College women's tennis team was on the wrong end of a 7-2 score line against the Beloit College Buccaneers. With only five players on the trip, IC was giving away a point in both doubles and singles, and couldn't make up the difference.
Beloit went ahead, 3-0, after winning the two contested doubles matches by identical 8-1 scores. Comfortably ahead entering singles play, the Bucs wrapped up the win with convincing victories at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. The Lady Blues were able to get on the board later on as
Jovanna Chavez won her match at No. 3 singles over Samantha Kinard in straight set, 6-1, 6-4. At No. 4 singles,
Brianna Pohlman came from a set down to defeat Alisha Ankin, 2-6, 6-2, 10-8.
Illinois College is back home on Oct. 7 for Senior Day against Monmouth beginning at 3 p.m.
