Box Score

APPLETON, Wis. – Down twice in the first half, the Illinois College women's soccer team showed its resilience to come back and get a draw on Saturday afternoon on the road against Lawrence University. Sarah Skaggs assisted on each goal for the Lady Blues, who move to 6-3-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in Midwest Conference action.

The stats favored IC slightly on the day, but a draw is likely a good result for the Lady Blues after falling behind on two occasions. Keli Muchowski put the Vikings ahead in the 11th minute. Less than eight minutes later, Ashley Sholmire knotted the proceedings at 1-1 with Skaggs on the feed.

Lawrence would move ahead once again in the 33rd minute with Liza Girvosa supplying the go-ahead goal. That lead would last until the 67th minute when Bianca Savarese again squared the match with Skaggs and Sholmire earning assists.

Cat Solberg went the full 110 minutes in net, making three saves against 13 LU shots. IC was much more accurate, forcing Lawrence keeper Dani Glass into seven saves on 16 shots. The Lady Blues also held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

The end of a five-match road trip comes tomorrow afternoon for Illinois College. The Lady Blues face St. Norbert at 1:30 p.m., then will have five of their final seven regular season matches at home at England Stadium.
