The Illinois College women's soccer team fell in its home opener on Wednesday as Webster University scored a 3-1 win over the Lady Blues.
Webster's Ashley Mess gave the visitors a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the contest and Briana Small made it a 2-0 score early in the second half. The Lady Blues pulled one goal back when
Kaylen Sims scored in the 73rd minute, but Webster reclaimed a two-goal lead when Lauren Scalice scored on a free kick moments later.

The Lady Blues fell to 1-2 with the loss. They host Westminster College on Sunday.
