Women's tennis tops Monmouth, 8-1

The Illinois College women's tennis team won its first match of the year on Wednesday, defeating Monmouth College by an 8-1 score.

Tamar Norville, Zippy Abdulmalik, Audrey Brauer, Jovanna Chavez and Brianna Pohlman were all winners in singles play. Norville and Holly Woelfel, Abdulmalik and Brauer, and Chavez and Pohlman were also winners in doubles action.

The Lady Blues improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in Midwest Conference South Division play. They host Millikin University Thursday at 3 p.m.
