Hannah McGinnis and
Brittney Burgess posted double-doubles as the Illinois College women's basketball team used a big second half to take a 56-51 non-conference win at Millikin University on Tuesday night in Decatur.
McGinnis led all players with 21 points and 15 rebounds, and her 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining helped ice the game. Burgess added 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Maddy Keith chipped in 10 points for the Lady Blues.
Each team led by as many as seven points in the first half, but Millikin took a 30-25 lead into halftime. The hosts led by as many as nine points in the second half, but a three-point play by McGinnis helped the Lady Blues get back ahead with 2:47 remaining.
Illinois College improved to 5-3 with the win. They travel to Lawrence University on Monday.
