The Illinois College men's soccer team handed Knox College just its second defeat of the season, and its first in Midwest Conference play, on Tuesday as the Blueboys scored a 1-0 win thanks to a penalty kick from
Josue Hernandez in the 84th minute.
The Blueboys were awarded a penalty kick with 6:29 remaining in the game, which Hernandez converted. Each team tallied nine shots in the game. IC goalkeeper
Scott Workman recorded six saves while earning the shutout of Knox, which entered with an 11-1 overall record.
Illinois College improved to 8-4-1 overall and 3-2 in Midwest Conference play. The Blueboys host Carroll University on Sunday.
