Josue Hernandez scored from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to lead the Illinois College men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Cornell College on Saturday in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
Brock Chartier scored in the 19th minute to give the Blueboys an early lead, but Cornell tied things up in the 71st minute when Abubakar Shehu found the back of the net. Hernandez's goal just over 10 minutes later provided the difference.
Illinois College had a 19-3 advantage in shots taken. IC goalkeeper

The Blueboys improved to 9-5-1 overall and 4-3 in Midwest Conference play. They travel to Beloit College next Saturday.
