The Illinois College men's and women's swimming teams swept both Knox College and Eureka College in a double dual at Illinois College Saturday afternoon. The IC men defeated Knox, 58-16, and Eureka, 61-19. The IC women beat Knox, 48-45, and Eureka, 74-13.
Jonah Macke- Booth, Xander Benziger and Brad Franke won two events each for the IC men. Macke-Booth was best in the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.64) and 1,650-yard freestyle (18:58.90). Benziger won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.42) and 200-yard individual medley (2:35.09). Franke won the 100-yard butterfly (59.54) and 200-yard freestyle (1:54.96). John Whitney won the 100-yard freestyle (54.83).
Katia Swane-Barzwoski and Elisha Nelson won two events each for the IC women. Swane-Barzowski clocked the best times in the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.26) and 200-yard freestyle (2:16.03). Nelson was best in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.88) and 200-yard individual medley (2:30.61). Taylor Brien won the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.61) and Audrey Brauer won the 50-yard freestyle (27.06).
The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Franke, Macke-Booth, Whitney and Tom Deppe was best, with a time of 1:33.57. The men's 200-yard medley relay team of Deppe, Franke, Benziger and Whitney won with a mark of 1:44.81. The IC women's 200-yard medley relay team of Brien, Swane-Barzowski, Nelson and Brauer won with a time of 2:04.24.
