The Illinois College men's swimming team topped Knox College (120-45) but fell to host Monmouth College (126-90) in a double dual Saturday at Monmouth College. The IC women lost to both Knox (121-91) and Monmouth (186-46).
The IC men scored first-place finishes in four individual events and two relays. Xander Benziger won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.47), John Whitney took the 50-yard freestyle (23.51), Brad Franke was best in the 100-yard butterfly (59.08) and Matt Woodson won the 1-meter diving event, with a score of 220.80.
IC's 400-yard medley relay team, consisting of Tom Deppe, Jonah Macke-Booth, Benziger and Franke, posted a winning time of 3:50.19. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Whitney, Macke-Booth, Deppe and Franke came in at a meet-best 3:28.27.
Audrey Brauer and Katia Swane-Barzowski posted IC's top finishes on the women's side. Brauer took second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.45) and Swane-Barzowski was second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:50.30).
