Women's tennis earns 5-4 win over Blackburn

The Illinois College women's tennis team earned a 5-4 win over Blackburn College in its home opener Saturday morning at the Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville.

Tamar Norville (6-1, 6-0), Zippy Abdulmalik (6-1, 6-3) and Audrey Brauer (6-4, 6-1) were singles winners for the Lady Blues. The doubles teams of Noville and Kavita Patel (8-5) and Abdulmalik and Brauer (8-6) were also winners.

IC improved to 3-5 overall with their second win in a row. The Lady Blues host Millikin University on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
