Grinnell College scored two goals within a span of 25 seconds early in the second half on its way to a 4-0 win over the visiting Lady Blues Saturday in Grinnell, Iowa.
Dabney Hofammann gave the hosts a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 32nd minute, but the 1-2 punch of goals from Nicole Sipfle and Patty Murphy-Geiss in the 49th minute proved too much to overcome for the Lady Blues. Hofmmann added a second goal in the 80th minute to provide the final tally.
IC was outshot 18-2 in the loss. Goalkeeper
Cat Solberg allowed the first three goals, while making four saves, before giving way to
Corey Hanson, who made two saves and allowed the final goal.
The Lady Blues fell to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in Midwest Conference play with the loss. The Lady Blues host Monmouth College Tuesday at 4 p.m.
