The Illinois College men's swimming team beat Millikin University while the IC women lost in a dual meet held Saturday at Illinois College. The IC men won 99-58, while the IC women were topped by Millikin 147-54.
Brad Franke posted a pair of first-place finishes for the Blueboys, taking first in both the 100-yard freestyle (51.14) and 200-yard freestyle (1:53.90). Franke was also a part of IC's 200-yard medley relay team, along with Tom Deppe, Xander Benziger and John Whitney, that took first in a time of 1:43.49.
Benziger won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.75, Deppe won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.30, and Whitney was fastest in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 22.91 seconds. Jonah Macke-Booth scored another first-place finish for IC, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:19.51.
Elisha Nelson scored the lone first-place finish for the Lady Blues, taking the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:14.04.
The Illinois College men's and women's swimming teams head to Monmouth College next Saturday.
