The Illinois College women's basketball team got off to a fast start before eventually falling to Monmouth College, 72-63, in a Midwest Conference game Wednesday night at Monmouth.
The Lady Blues led by as many as 12 points and took a 32-21 lead into halftime before a 51-31 second-half surge lifted the hosts.
Tiffany King posted a double-double while scoring a game-high 20 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for the Lady Blues.
Paige Cullison added 14 points, while
Hannah McGinnis and
Brittney Burgess chipped in 10 points each. Cullison dished out four assists and King blocked three shots.
Illinois College fell to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Midwest Conference play with the loss. The Lady Blues host Lake Forest College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
