Nathan Kohler scored a game-high 25 points but it wasn't enough as the Illinois College men's basketball team lost 65-63 on Wednesday night at Monmouth College.
The Blueboys led by as many as 10 points in the first half and led the entire second half until Monmouth's Wes Dukeman hit a pair of free throws with 4:13 left to give the hosts the lead for good. Kohler was 8-for-16 from the field and 5-for-7 from behind the 3-point arc en route to the 25-point performance.
Isaac Grapperhaus and
Chris Irvin scored nine points each.
Brandon Berry pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.
IC fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in Midwest Conference play. The Blueboys host Lake Forest College at 3 p.m. Saturday.
