The Illinois College women's soccer team snapped a 44-game winless streak in Midwest Conference play with a 3-0 win at Knox College Thursday afternoon in Galesburg.
Lo Bernier,
Bianca Savarese and
Julie Weier netted the goals for IC to snap a streak that dated back to the 2007 season.
Sarah Skaggs provided the assist on Bernier's goal. Savarese and Weier scored unassisted goals. IC goalkeeper
Cat Solberg made one save while earning the shutout.
Thursday's game was called at the 83:26 mark, with less than seven minutes remaining, due to lightning. The Illinois College men's soccer match with Knox was postponed. No makeup date was immediately announced.
The Illinois College women's soccer team improved to 5-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in Midwest Conference play with Thursday's win. The Lady Blues host Ripon College on Saturday at 11 a.m. The IC men will take on Ripon at 1:30 p.m.
