Became the first IC wrestler to win All-America honors when he finished sixth in the nation at 177 pounds at the 1991 NCAA Division III wrestling tournament. Won Midwest Conference titles in the sport, captured his team’s MVP award in 1989-90 and 1990-91, and earned academic all-America honors as a senior. Vacca, who was chosen to receive IC’s William J. Downer Award for 1989-90, compiled marks of 35-4 as a junior and 36-6 as a senior en route to posting more than 100 career victories.
