Former football standout and Most Valuable Player for the Blueboys. He won all-state gridiron honors and was a three-time NAIA all-district selection at linebacker. The Camden, Ill. native also lettered in track, specializing in the javelin. Vaughn was selected as winner of IC’s William J. Downer Award as male athlete of the year in 1977-78. Served as co-captain for the nationally ranked 1977 Blueboy team that finished 7-1. Former coach and athletic director at Illinois College.
