Played basketball and tennis for the Blueboys. Lukeman teamed with Bob Hamm to win the Little 19 doubles championship in 1937 and was team captain in 1938. During World War II, Lukeman competed on his post’s tennis team and also represented the US Signal Corps in Hawaii.
