Enjoyed outstanding careers in baseball and football for the Blueboys. He was the 2000 recipient of the William J. Downer Award and won the Conrad Noll Award as football MVP in 1997 and 1998. He was a two-year captain in baseball and football, and an All-Midwest Conference honoree in both sports.
