Football, basketball and baseball standout at Illinois College from 1933-37. Was one of the stars of the 1935-36 Blueboy basketball squad that won the Little 19 basketball title that year. He was also the captain of the 1936-37 squad which finished second in the conference. He was a former Marine Corps captain.
